The House
Stewards Cottage, originally
part of the Brookmans Estate, has been our family home for over 30 years.
The house is situated in the hamlet of Bell Bar and was built nearly 200
years ago on what was then the Great North Road. These days it is a quiet
backwater surrounded by agricultural land.
The house is situated on an
unmade track between the farmhouse and the farmyard. There is plenty of
space for parking. The layout of the house and gardens is rather unusual due
to the fact that the original house was divided in 1907, and subsequent
owners have enlarged the property.
The house is decorated and
furnished in a mixture of contemporary and traditional styles, creating an
elegant, but welcoming environment. The house is not really suitable for
children these days, and being an old house with lots of steps is not really
accessible for wheelchair users. See our
Access Statement.
We
regret that we are not able to take pets as our timid Pushkin lives here.
All bedrooms are WiFi enabled.
Stewards Cottage is a
no-smoking establishment.
